Raleigh Art Marketing

Looking for some places to show your artwork in Raleigh, Chapel Hill or Durham? This miniblog has the beginings of a list offered by the demon child of Raleigh indie comics and fine art painting Paul Friedrich (some of his work lives at the Onion Head Monster site.)

Check out the Raleigh Art Marketing site for a listing of galleries where you should consider showing your work.

Indie Music Marketing

My friend Reva invited me to help her market her band online. Hell yeah!

I'm keeping track of what I'm doing and the resources I find on my indie music marketing blog.

If you know of any resources let me know.

Ads as Media

One of the more interesting trends is marketing is Ads as Media. Ads as Media is the convergence of advertiser and media.

Where is this happening now?

Everytime a business publishes an article online. Everytime a business owner posts to his blog. Everytime a company runs and hosts its own conference.

There are rules for being a responsible media provider though.

Media Mapping

Media Mapping is the practice of analyzing an industry based on the media that covers it.

Discuss Media Mapping.

meMedia

We're in the midst of the meMedia revolution. This is the era of media tools in the hands of the masses. With the evolution of these tools, such as blogs, we're going to see an increasing trend towards niche media outlets/directories/networks, and media empires resembling the multi channels provided by the cable companies.

The meMedia revolution is the media tool. Media tools ARE the new media revolution and allow the news to reach audiences who will become increasingly niche.

Join the meMedia discussion. What do you think the future holds?

Free Tech Articles

There is, to my knowledge, currently no repository for free tech articles online. Free tech articles are typically harder to find than business-related articles and require more hands-on discussion with the authors.

This site, in blog format, will be a sort of directory of authors who have published tech articles for free in the past. This does not mean that you can just take their work and publish it without permission. Be sure to contact them first.

I aim to add new listings every week and welcome your suggestions. Send to gfrench at gmail dot com.

The Frontiers of Free Content

This blog tracks the changes and developments in the free content industry. What are the latest trends in paying squat for top quality content? Right now the trend is republishing blog posts as articles.

Article Marketing

I believe in the power of information marketing. Namely, providing valuable, relevant information that brands you and your business as thought leaders and experts in your industry. Through my experience at WebProNews I came to focus primarily on Article Marketing as a means to this end, though there are clearly many many ways to do this.

The article marketing blog is an ongoing project in which I aim to measure the actual return on investment of article marketing.

Right now though it's an article marketing resource and an interview with Kevin Bidwell who runs Article Announce.

Check out the article marketing blog.

the IM Phantom

I've had at least one visit from the IM phantom. What is he? When does he visit and why?

I'm a Susannah Breslin Fan

I'm flashing on Susannah Breslin because she's in the midst of an intellectual and artistic reaction to pornography. She's looking at the guts of the porn industry and making things with it.

Here's my Susannah Breslin microsite, which at the moment is a disorganization of links to more information about her.

Send your thoughts to gfrench at gmail dot com.

Brunkfast

Brunkfast is a newish word with two results in Google and three different definitions. Who will decide its actual meaning?

Pigeon Stomping

I have never stomped a pigeon. I have had the urge, the compulsion, but it's never been something I've seriously considered. I suspect others have had this impulse, and suspect further that there may be some information on the web related to stomping on pigeons, and perhaps even some videos or pictures.

Guide to Wake County Traffic Court

I went to traffic court in Raleigh recently. The lack of instruction regarding procedure spawned this microsite. Check it out and send me an email if you have more information or stories you'd like to share.
